AJ Michalka was born in Torrance, the state of California. Her mother Carrie, also a musician, inspired her to become a musician. AJ was born in Torrance California and was influenced to be a performer from her maternal grandmother Carrie. AJ spent her early childhood predominantly in Torrance as well as Seattle.
